Topic: Examine yourself.

Text: ((II Corinthians 13:5) (ISV)

Keep examining yourselves to see whether you are continuing in the faith. Test yourselves! You know, don’t you, that Jesus the Messiah lives in you? Could it be that you are failing the test?

Introduction:

The Greek word for examine is Dokimazo which means to test, examine, prove, scrutinize (to see whether a thing is genuine or not)

As Christians we must seek the face of God daily, for hidden traps set up by the enemy or sometimes ourselves that will bring about a Satanic attack in our life. In the case of this new born babe in Christ Who is referred to as Mrs. X, she failed to heed the warning of her doctor, and because of unconfessed sin in her life which she knew about, and still continued to practice, she opened a door for Satan to attack her. How many people know, that sometimes God will allow Satan to attack your body to get your attention?

The bible states in the book of (Ephesians 4:27) (ISV) and do not give the devil an opportunity to work. This woman gave Satan the authority to go to work on her; because she was ignorant to Satan devices and methods and because she lacked discernment, she was unable to recognize Satan’s attack, she became extremely tired and fatigued, as she struggled to hold on to her sanity. She finally came to the realization that she was under a demonic attack.

The bible states in the book of (I Corinthians 11:28-30)

But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread and drink of the cup. For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy manner eats and drinks judgment to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body. For this reason many are weak and sick among you, and many sleep.

It is obvious that, because of the times in which we live, self-examination is necessary so that we correct ourselves on a regular basis to make certain we continue to bring honor to God and Christ. Through Self-examination we remain in right alignment with God,

he speaks to us concerning our short comings and flaws, we have the opportunity to self-reflect and make the necessary changes to correct our life, and avoid Satan’s snares.

(1 John 1:9) states if we make it our habit to confess our sins, in his faithful righteousness he forgives us for those sins and cleanses us from all unrighteousness.

This scripture is letting us know that God is aware of Satan’s devices, and that he is faithful to forgive us of all of our sins no matter what they may be. Mrs. X had God’s undivided attention she could have avoided this attack if only she had taken the time to do self-examination and repent of all sins she knew about in her life. Mrs. X was now reaping what she had sown. How many of us have hidden sins that we still have not given over to God, things that we do, that we know is not pleasing to God. We might not end up like Mrs. X in this chapter, however, we to can be allowing Satan access into our lives. The bible states in the book of (IPeter 5:8) Be clear-minded and alert. Your opponent, the devil, is prowling around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. When we as Christians examine our self we give no room to the devil, our lines of communication with God are open, and we become free from mental issues and snare set up by the enemy to cause us to crack up.

In conclusion

Do a self-examination of yourself ask God to reveal to you shortcomings and snares that the enemy has set up for you, once you have accessed the situation give the devil a black eye and do spiritual warfare, by quickly repenting of all sins, taking authority over the situation, and pleading the blood of Jesus over your life. P.S. Don’t forget to close the door behind you.
